Kadie Lynn Roberson, the little girl with the big voice from the Cedar Creek Lake area, wowed all four of the judges and the audience on NBC's America's Got Talent June 14, 2016.
The melody that arose from the 12-year-old as she sang "Twinkle, Twinkle Lucky Star" blew the judges away, judging from the looks on their faces.
After she finished singing all of the judges praised Kadie Lynn, who lives in Kemp. "You mine, mine and you mine and every once in a while you find a diamond," judge Simon Coiwell said.
Cowell said he never thought the little girl in a short dress and cowboy boots standing before him would display such a mature voice. But he noted her confidence impressed him before she started singing.
The show featured brief interviews with Kadie Lynn and her mother and father before she went on stage. Her mother revealed that she and her husband adopted the singing sensation when they were in their 50s.
Kadie Lynn told the judges, who wanted to know if she had ever been in love because she sang such a sweet ballad, that she had only been in love with her mother. She praised both of her parents, who transport her around Texas in a motor home for her appearances at churches, fairs and other events.
"They do everything they can for me," Kadie Lynn said. "I really appreciate it so much."
Singing defines her, Kadie Lynn said. "I love to sing," she said. "It's not something I do. It's who I am."
Nick Cannon, the show's host, compared Kadie Lynn's talents to those of the legendary Patsy Cline's.
