The Dock in Seven Points closes, posts announcement on door; some customers owed drinks on prepaid tabs

The Dock of Cedar Creek Lake that opened earlier in the year in Seven Points is now closed.

A notice was posted on the door that said the performance bar was closed "for now," and that it would reopen sometime in the future with a "grand reopening."

One customer said she heard the operators planned to sell the nightclub. The nightclub was last open Sunday, Oct. 19.

Prior to the closing the nightclub offered promotions to customers, telling them if that they laid down $100 for future drinks they would be given a $150 credit for purchases, according to the customer.

The customer said the operator offered to open the bar for a couple of hours for those customers to drink up their unused credit. No one else would be allowed in the bar during the event except for the customers who paid for the promotions, she said.

"I'm more mad at myself than anything else," the customer said about her unused credit. She purchased two promotions, and she used up one of them.

One customer of the bar who identified himself as an accountant said he could think of only one reason why a bar owner would offer such a promotion -- a cash flow problem.

Cedar Creek Lake

Fishing Report from TPWD (Mar. 27)

EXCELLENT. Stained; 64 degrees; 0.21 feet above pool. The hybrid striped bass and white bass have made a full recovery from the spawn and are now back in the main lake in droves and are on a feeding frenzy. Look for heavy bird activity throughout the lake on flats and near the dam on edges of drop offs especially on cloudy and overcast days. The bite will continue to get even better in these areas as the shad spawn will start to take place in the next 2-3 weeks across the lake. Slowly retrieve shiny slabs or spinnerbaits off the bottom to catch these fish in depths of 17-26 feet of water. The crappie have also migrated back into the main lake. Look for them under bridge pylons or under docks where the depths are between 3-10 feet. Guides have been reporting exceptionally nice catches on sunny warmer days.
