Interested in getting "on the air" with Amateur Radio? There is an active ham radio club in the lake area, and they can help you get your license.
The CCARC monthly meeting begins at 9 a.m, but most members come early to enjoy Mabank Café's excellent buffet breakfast. The meeting includes introductions, a very short business business meeting, and a guest speaker (live or via Skype teleconferencing). The meeting ends promptly at 10 a.m.
All ham operators and anyone interested in Amateur Radio are invited to attend.
About the Club
Formed in 1981, the Cedar Creek ARC has over forty members from throughout the tri-county area. It maintains a VHF repeater system providing hand-held radio coverage to hams throughout the lake area. CCARC participates in the National Weather Service SKYWARN program and the Amateur Radio Emergency Service. CCARC provides classes to those that wish to join the ranks of Amateur "ham" Radio.
