Less Is More
One of the great aspects of ham radio is there are so many options to try. Have you tried QRP? It is generally defined as operating with 5 watts or less. In some cases a LOT less.
Many club members do and that's the thrust of the next meeting of the Cedar Creek Amateur (ham) Radio Club on Saturday, September 9th. William Moos, will explain what a typical set up might look like. Hint: Very simple. People who practice QRP have short wave radios that fit in their hand but can connect with the world.
We can use your help at this meeting. Do you have a QRP radio? If so, will you bring it to the meeting and maybe tell a short experience you've had with it?
If you are interested in technology, come join like-minded people at the meetings that are free and open to the public. It happens at 9 AM on Saturday September 9th at the Mabank Café on Hwy 198 in Mabank.
The club meets the second Saturday of each month there. The meeting starts at 9 AM, but many come early for the breakfast buffet. Anyone interested in technology is welcome.
