The Secret is Out

We now know what has been a closely guarded inside-story about the upcoming Whiskers & Wags fundraiser. Of course they will have tremendous auction items like a Hilton Grand Resort one week Vacation-2 bedroom Villa. These are accommodations in some of the most famed destinations in the world. And they have that autographed 2016 Dallas Cowboys team football and many other not-available-anywhere-else items.

But beyond the auctions they have designed the evening of April 29th at the Athens Country Club to be FUN! There will be a special surprise dance entertainment, complimentary cocktails or Cedar Creek Brewery beer at check-in and more.

And then there is famed Dallas DJ Ronald Holloway, who is bringing with him over 50,000 musical selections. And within those thousands are fun selections like the Hokey Pokey, Bunny Hop, The Twist and many more. In other words, this evening will be the most entertaining you have attended in years.

And 100% of the funds raised go to support The Humane Society of Cedar Creek Lake and The Friends of the Animals. This is their fifth annual joint fundraiser. Every year has been a sellout and this year will be no exception.

Tickets are available online OR can be purchased at Friends of the Animals Spay/Neuter Clinic in Gun Barrel City on Tuesdays OR call Sydney @ 214-808-4701 or Lanette @ 817-915-8404. You can buy the tickets and pre-register at the same time. Then that evening you just show up and have a great time.

All the beer that Saturday night is provided by the Cedar Creek Brewery, so have a taste of a great, locally produced brew.

Fishing Report from TPWD (Apr. 24)

EXCELLENT. Slightly stained; 70 degrees; 0.40 feet above pool. Hybrid striped bass and white bass have made a full recovery from the spawn and are now back in the main lake in droves and are on a feeding frenzy. Look for heavy bird activity throughout the lake on flats and near the dam on edges of drop offs especially on cloudy and overcast days. The Hybrids and Whitebass have started schooling in water from 6-14 feet at the dam and any wind blown shallow point or seawall. Late evening schooling action is also happening in shallow coves and points throughout the lake. Reports of great catches using silver or white slabs and spinnerbaits and retrieving off the bottom at a very slow retrieve to catch these fish in depths of 8-16 feet of water. The crappie have also migrated back into the main lake. Look for them under bridge pylons or under docks where the depths are between 3-10 feet. Guides have been reporting exceptionally nice catches on sunny warmer days. Report by Brent Herbeck, Herbeck’s Lonestar Fishing Guide Service.
