Hi folks Jason Barber here with the www.kingscreekadventures.com fishing report for Cedar Creek Lake. The lake level is at just below 7' low and we're in bad need of rain. The fishing are locked in their winter time patterns and can be caught with a little knowledge and patience. The water temperatures are dropping below the 50 degree mark and the clarity is slightly stained to stained.
The big catfish bite is on fire! You can catch fish two different ways this time of year. Try going to the very upper end of the lake or the very back of any major creeks and finding the shallow flats adjacent. Anchor or beach your boat and bottom fish with fresh cut shad or rough fish and you should get bit. You can also find the big cats in 25 to 45' drifting the main lake from mid lake south. Use the same baits and big tackle and put in some long drifts pulling a drift sock to slow your drift and you should find some active fish.
The crappie are going deeper you may still find a few fish in 16 to 24' but start looking in 30 to 50' on the south end of the lake and fish extremely slow with jigs and minnows near the bottom.
Largemouth are gonna be slow but not impossible. Try finesse jigs lip less cranks and small plastics around rocks deeper docks and also fish any deeper brush you can find. Slow way down and you should have better luck getting bit.
As for sandies and hybrids go mid lake south and focus on the 28 to 50' water. Fishing small shad imitations near the bottom up to 10' off the bottom. Drift or anchor near fish and bait activity you find on your graph. Making noise on the boat will attract fish, the vibration sent through the water mimics heavy bird activity common during the winter months.
