An estimated 7,000 gallons of water flowed into Gun Barrel City Hall during its closure over the Martin Luther King holiday.
City staff found several inches of water covering the floors when they arrived for work on Tuesday morning, Jan. 17, 2017.
The source of the flooding is yet to be determined. The damage shut down all service at City Hall, including phone and Internet service.
A restoration company began work to remove the water, and city officials said they were unsure when the the offices could be reopened.
The City Council will holds its Jan. 24 meeting at the Gun Barrel City Fire Department's meeting room at 6:30 p.m. at City Park.
