Gun Barrel City notified residents Thursday, Feb. 4, that a "major water line break" had left most of the city without water.
The recorded notice going to residents' phones said that East Cedar Creek Fresh Water Supply District officials hoped to get repairs made within a couple of hours and restore service.
ECCFWSD issued a boil water notice for all of Gun Barrel City after water service was restored.
On Jan. 30 Tamarack officials issued a boil water notice to residents because a water line break had resulted in low pressure causing contamination.
Before water is consumed during such warning periods, it should be brought to a rolling boil and kept at that temperature for two minutes before using it for drinking or cooking.
