Communicating with water and pigment may seem unusual, but not to the members of Star Harbor Watercolor Society as they embrace American artist Edward Hopper's statement, "If you could say it in words, there would be no reason to paint." Organized in 2005, this group never dreamed their society would be known in the North Texas art scene or that members would win awards for their artwork and representation in prestigious juried art exhibitions.
Sunday, February 19th, marks the society's annual "For the Love of Art Show and Sale." The exhibition features a unique variety of artistic styles, color, subject matter, and technique--all in original watercolor artwork. Artists will be present to meet those who attend the show. This is a free admission event complete with live music, delicious refreshments (also free!) and a live painting demonstration held from 1-5 p.m. at the City Hall Building, 99 Sunset Blvd., Star Harbor, TX 75148.
