Hey folks, Jason Barber here with the www.kingscreekadventures.com fishing and lake report for Cedar Creek Lake. The lake level is at about 7 inches low and falling with the water temperature being in the low to mid 80's. The clarity ranges from slightly stained to stained heading north as usual.
The large mouth are still being caught under docks, especially those with a little deeper water on them. Try shaky heads, tx rig or small jigs and mix in a moving bait like a crank bait or bladed jig at times. Also try points and humps in 12 to 24' with deep diving crank baits and Carolina rigs as well as bigger jigs and tx rigged plastics.
Catfish are good anchoring on mainlake humps and fishing in 18 to 24' near a drop to deeper water. You can also randomly drift the mid to upper end of the lake in 10 to 20' and have some success. Fresh shad or cut bait is best for the blue cats, other baits and areas will work for the channel cat.
Hybrids and sandbass are on mainlake points and humps as well and can be caught on slabs and swim baits in 16 to 24'. Watch your electronics constantly as they are moving alot right now. Trolling is another great way to find fish and catch a alot of fish while relaxing. You may see some surface activity early or late so be prepared.
Crappie are tough but can be caught under the bridges and deepest docks as well as on brush in 16 to 25'. Jigs and minnows are both good choices for bait, you just have to work to get on the fish then it can be pretty good action.
