Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the www.Kingscreekadventures.com fishing and lake report for Cedar Creek Lake. The water level is just over full and the temperature is in the low 50's. The water clarity is stained to muddy heading north and the fish are biting!
The crappie are still under the deeper boat docks in 6 to 15' and in brushpiles in 12 to 24' of water. Jigs and Minnows are both good baits it just depends on personal preference.
Large mouth are on docks pretty good and can also be caught on shallow rocks. Jigs and spinners are good as well as crank baits. You can still catch fish offshore on brushpiles with jigs and Carolina rigs and you can go shallow and get bit in flooded grass too you just have to explore and conquer.
The catfish are good drifting the mainlake in 20 to 40' with fresh cut bait and can also be caught shallow on the north end in 3 to 10' of water. Shad or cut rough fish is good for either application.
The hybrids and Sandies are moving deep and can be found in 25 to 40' of water, try dead stiking shad imitations vertically below the boat while watching the graph. Make sure you make some noise to attract the active fish.
Thanks as always for reading my report and please don't hesitate to contact me for a guided fishing trip. 903-603-2047
