Hey folks, Jason Barber here with the www.kingscreekadventures.com fishing and lake report for Cedar Creek Lake. The lake level is at normal pool and the water temperature is in the high 80's and rising. The water clarity is stained to muddy heading north.
The crappie are pretty much moved out of the shallows and have taken up residence in deeper water near brush or bridges in 12 to 20'. As always jigs and minnows are both good choices for bait.
Large mouth are scattered throughout the lake and can be caught on top water baits early and late as well as crank baits and plastics around all shoreline cover in 2 to 8' along mainlake shorelines. Docks are holding fish and deeper brush is beginning to hold a few.good fish too. Carolina rigs and deep cranks are good choices.
Catfish are good anchoring on mainlake humps and points in 15 to 24' using cut shad or shrimp. You can also drift in 12 to 20' on the north end of the lake and find fish.
Hybrids and sandbass are on mainlake points and humps as well. Try slabs and swim baits in 12nto 24' close to drop off edges while watching you finder looking for fish. Trolling is another great way to find fish, stay in 10 to 20' and watch the graph closely. Rig up with Rat-l-traps, crank baits and the infamous hell pet rig.
