This Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31 three public venues in Cedar Creek Lake will host little ghosts, goblins, heroes and costumed characters in Mabank, Gun Barrel City and the City of Kemp.
In Mabank, starting at 5:30 p.m. local businesses and organizations will be offering treats and fun to trick-or-treaters at the Mabank Pavilion. The popular event runs through 7:30 p.m.
In Gun Barrel City, starting at 8 p.m. The Monster Mash Bash gets underway at the Gun Barrel City Pavilion, behind the main fire station on Mabelle Lane with prizes for the best contest in three age categories with $50 prizes. New this year is a glow in the dark Halloween Egg Hunt, all followed by a dance to the musical stylings of DJ Tuley’s Karaoke.
In Kemp, an old-fashioned Trunk or Treat event gets underway at 6 p.m. and closes at 8 p.m. at the Kemp City Park.
Other Halloween events have been ongoing in the days leading up to Halloween, including this one at Big Daddy’s Flea Market on Saturday.
Trick or treaters walk the booths at Big Daddy’s Flea market in Tool on the West side of the lake gathering treats of all kinds.
Various booths offer games, face painting, tons of candy and witches protecting the place with their “magic spells and shrieks to scare away any evil.” Little one come dressed in cute costumes that let their personalities shine -- from a medieval times joker to brothers dressed as Buzz and Woody from Toy Story, with the sound effects to match.
Spooky cakes and glittery paint with the smell of BBQ fills the cool crisp air. Einstein smelled it, waited for his sandwich while princesses walked around every corner.
All walks of life join in the festivities with childlike spirits coming out to play.
