Many residents of tiny Kemp said the best news they got last year came with the opening of a Walmart neighborhood grocery store. The worst news this year arrived when Walmart announced the closing of multiple small grocery stores, including the nine-month-old one in Kemp.
Now, Kemp residents are about to get another shot of good news. A grocery store chain bought many of the closed Walmart stores recently, and the public announcement is expected soon.
Once again, Kemp residents will be able to buy fresh meat and produce without traveling many miles out of their town.
The prices might not be as good as Walmart's, but the convenience will likely make up for it. It also provides convenience for weekenders on the way to the lake.
Rumors about the planned sale have circulated for several weeks on Cedar Creek Lake.
Watch for news about the official announcement. It won't be long now as the grocery store chain's activities in preparation of the Kemp store has confirmed.
