Pinnacle Women's Club to host 18th annual rumage sale at Mabank Pavilion

The Pinnacle Women’s Club 18th annual 2016 rummage sale benefiting local charities is adding a Saturday to their two-day event this year.

The sale will be  Friday October 14th and Saturday October 15th at the Mabank Pavilion  The time of opening has changed to 8 a.m. on both days.

Anyone showing up at the sale at the traditional time of 7 a.m. may be in the dark as PWC members wanted the public and its workers to begin shopping with a little daylight. At last year’s event many people were waiting in line before the sun came up.

“Our Sale is starting an hour later this year at 8 a.m. so we want to let folks know the time change and not show up too early as we know they like to start lining up to get first chance at some great sale items”, said Patty Evans, committee chair of the PWC Garage Sale.

“Posted Banners in our community are being used this year with our new days and time to communicate to our customers.  We also have filled up over ten storage units with amazing items from a Hot Tub to a large car roof carrier just to name some of the one of kind items,” added Evans.

Items such as furniture, men’s and ladies’ clothing and accessories, books, shoes, housewares, electronics, sporting gear, holiday décor, children's  items,  and more will be featured. More than 160 families have been saving all year for this event.

Over twenty local organizations benefit from the sale along with college scholarships.  The PWC Charity Garage Sale is in its 18th year of giving back to the community.

Fishing Report from TPWD (Mar. 27)

EXCELLENT. Stained; 64 degrees; 0.21 feet above pool. The hybrid striped bass and white bass have made a full recovery from the spawn and are now back in the main lake in droves and are on a feeding frenzy. Look for heavy bird activity throughout the lake on flats and near the dam on edges of drop offs especially on cloudy and overcast days. The bite will continue to get even better in these areas as the shad spawn will start to take place in the next 2-3 weeks across the lake. Slowly retrieve shiny slabs or spinnerbaits off the bottom to catch these fish in depths of 17-26 feet of water. The crappie have also migrated back into the main lake. Look for them under bridge pylons or under docks where the depths are between 3-10 feet. Guides have been reporting exceptionally nice catches on sunny warmer days.
