Early voting runs through Friday, Oct. 30, for the Nov. 3 Election Day at county polling sites.
The highlights on the local ballot are a $10 million Mabank Indpendent School District bond proposal, an alcohol election in Trinidad and seven statewide proposals.
Mabank ISD officials say the restructuring of current bonds would allow the sale of new bonds without raising school property taxes.
The new bond income would be used to improve district security, add classrooms and improved parking and other updates to district facilities.
Trinidad voters will consider a measure to approve the sale of alcoholic beverages for off-premise consumption.
The statewide propositions are measures to change the homestead exemption for school district property taxes from $15,000 to $25,000; exempt property from taxation for surving spouses of totally disabled veterans; repeal the requirement that certain executive officials reside in Austin while in office; allow professional sports team charitable foundations to conduct raffles; authorize counties with 7,500 people or less to perform private road construction and maintenance; provide for a right to fund, fish and harvest wildlife and allocate a portion of sales and use tax revenue to the state highway fund through 2032.
