505 Ranch Club in Mabank to start construction of new spec homes

505 Ranch Club recently sold its 3,700-square-foot spec home, and plans are underway to begin construction of multiple new spec homes in 2016.

The new spec homes will be about 4,400 square feet of living space with sweeping views of the lake and grounds that are covered with a canopy of towering oak trees. They will be constructed of stone with speciality roofs, and their completion is planned for 2017.

As with any house at the 505, ownership includes a percentage ownership in all common areas including the clubhouse with infinity edge pool, guest cottages, skeet range, ATV course, polo field, and almost 500 acres to roam in the gated community.

The interiors of the new spec homes will be finished similar to the recently sold one with dark hardwood flooring, marble, granite, slate, and professional appliances. The sold home featured 4 bedrooms, 5.2 baths home included a great room, game room and chef’s kitchen.

Vacant lots with lake frontage for custom-built homes also are available for sale.

Fishing Report from TPWD (Apr. 24)

EXCELLENT. Slightly stained; 70 degrees; 0.40 feet above pool. Hybrid striped bass and white bass have made a full recovery from the spawn and are now back in the main lake in droves and are on a feeding frenzy. Look for heavy bird activity throughout the lake on flats and near the dam on edges of drop offs especially on cloudy and overcast days. The Hybrids and Whitebass have started schooling in water from 6-14 feet at the dam and any wind blown shallow point or seawall. Late evening schooling action is also happening in shallow coves and points throughout the lake. Reports of great catches using silver or white slabs and spinnerbaits and retrieving off the bottom at a very slow retrieve to catch these fish in depths of 8-16 feet of water. The crappie have also migrated back into the main lake. Look for them under bridge pylons or under docks where the depths are between 3-10 feet. Guides have been reporting exceptionally nice catches on sunny warmer days. Report by Brent Herbeck, Herbeck’s Lonestar Fishing Guide Service.
