McClain's Restaurant in Seven Points is one of those small-town eateries where everybody seems to know everybody else in the house. The food is great at McClain's, and it is also a place to see and be seen by all of the people you like or even don't like. But everyone is generally in a good mood and jovial because the waitresses are friendly and efficient, bringing heaping plates of food out of the kitchen quickly. Every day there are specials at both lunch and dinner, and the breakfast is good and reasonable as well. The specials include a meat and three vegetables, and it changes daily. The variety of foods the cooks prepare seems to be unlimited, ranging from beef tips to salmon croquettes. If you don?t like what is on special for the day, you can always order a chicken fried steak instead. They like to make you happy at McClains. That's why it has been open for 35 years at the main intersection of Seven Points where Highways 274 and 334 cross one another.
