Because Life is Better at the Lake

Cedar Creek Lake Fishing Report for April 26, 2018

Kings Creek Adventures
I started my career as a professional Bass fisherman in 2000 and claimed my 1st B.A.S.S. victory on the famous Sam Rayburn reservoir in 2002 and finished 3rd place in my first B.A.S.S. Tour event in Florida in 2002. I am currently a full-time fishing guide and offer my services on Cedar Creek Lake and surrounding lakes.

Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the www.kingscreekadventures.com fishing and lake report for Cedar creek lake. The lake is full and the water temperature is running mid to high 60's with the clarity being stained to muddy.

Large mouth can be caught shallow throughout the entire lake, most fish are spawned out but not all which puts fish scattered everywhere. Rocks and retaining walls are good places to look early with the shad spawn peaking. Shallow docks and any shoreline bushes, weeds or debris are other good places. Topwaters and crankbaits as well as spinnerbaits and chatter baits are all good choices day to day you just have to experiment. Jigs and soft plastics will work best on other days just let the fish tell you what's best.

Crappie are also spawning and staging on the way in and out so you may find shallow fish, fish under docks or fish in deeper rocks and brush. Minnows and jigs are both great baits it just depends on what you like and how you are fishing.

Catfish are best shallow in the morning around points and retaining walls. Fresh shad is best and don't be afraid to fish super shallow.

The hybrids and sand bass are shallow early on humps points and can be caught on shad, slabs or swimbaits. The shad spawn has them feeding early in 1 to 5' and then they start moving out during the day. The dock lights at night can be another fun way to fish, just take some small crankbaits, jigs and swimbaits and target the brightest lights.

Thanks for reading this report and feel free to call me when you get ready for a fun day of fishing on cedar creek lake!
