Because Life is Better at the Lake

Cedar Creek Lake Fishing Report for January 17, 2017

Kings Creek Adventures
I started my career as a professional Bass fisherman in 2000 and claimed my 1st B.A.S.S. victory on the famous Sam Rayburn reservoir in 2002 and finished 3rd place in my first B.A.S.S. Tour event in Florida in 2002. I am currently a full-time fishing guide and offer my services on Cedar Creek Lake and surrounding lakes.

Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the www. Kingscreekadventures.com fishing and lake report for Cedar creek lake. I'm sorry I haven't posted a report in a while but here it is, the lake level is over 2' low and the water temperature is in the mid 40's. The clarity ranges from slightly stained to very stained heading north.

Hybrid and sandies are best around mainlake bait schools in 30 to 50' water, try plastic shad imitations rigged on open hooked jigheads 2 to 10' off bottom depending on the position of the fish on your graph. Drifting and anchoring are both effective.

Crappie are tough but you can find fish in deeper brush and on deep flats around shad schools as well. Fish brush in 16 to 25' and flats adjacent to points, humps and creeks in 24 to 40' water.

Catfish are good drifting deep on the lower end of the lake and anchoring shallow on the north end. Fresh cut shad or rough fish is the best bait. You should find fish in 24 to 40' water from mid lake south and in 2 to 10' on the upper end.

Largemouth can be found on docks but you'll need to fish super slow with jigs, plastics and crankbaits. You can also find fish on rock or brush in various depths, some deeper points, humps and brushpiles will hold fish as well. Try heavier jigs, drop-shots and c-rigs in these areas.

Thanks as always for reading my report and I hope it helps you get on the fish faster your next trip out. To book a trip with me call 903-603-2047
