Cedar Creek Lake

Fishing Report from TPWD (Mar. 13)

EXCELLENT. Stained; 62 degrees; 0.14 feet below pool. The white bass and hybrids have been staging for the spring spawn in shallower water in 6-18 feet, and into any shallow creek that has flowing water. This has been happening now for 2 weeks and we are now seeing signs that the white bass and hybrids are coming back into the main lake. Use small weighted jigs with a small plastic tail to get these fish to bite or try using a double or triple tandem bait or a silver slab spoon to try different depths. The crappie bite has picked up in the creeks and inlets in 2-10 ft of water throughout the entire lake. We are now seeing the crappie migrate back into the main lake. Look for them under bridge pylons or under docks where the depths are between 4-10 ft. Guides have been reporting exceptionally nice catches on sunny warmer days. Report by Brent Herbeck, Herbeck’s Lonestar Fishing Guide Service.
