TOOL -- The Cedar Creek Yacht Club will kick off its new season with a fundamentals in sailing class at the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Club House Saturday, March 2, at 9 a.m. The club, which first organized in 1997, is based at Don's Port Marina in Tool. The season runs from March through October, and members gather to race and for an evening dinner social on the second Saturday and for a fun sail on the fourth Saturday of each month. The club, which has about 50 members, also hosts an annual regatta and other special sailing events. The sailing class is open to the public and free. New members are also being sought.
