Hey folks, Jason Barber here with this weeks www.kingscreekadventures.com fishing report for Cedar Creek Lake.
The lake is 0.17 ft. low and in great shape and water temps are in the mid to high 70's with the clarity nranging from lightly stained to muddy. Fishing is good for several speceis, crappie and largemouth are almost finished with thier spawning season and you can find fish in various areas. Try locating rocks and vegetation in spawning coves as well as docks, brush and secondary points. For the crappie, jigs and minnows are best worked near cover. The dam and spillway along with the bridges are all great locations as well. For the largemouth, soft plastics, topwaters and crankbaits are good and both speceis, crappie and bass have been in 2 to 8 ft.. Catfish are scattered, you can find fish on the humps, points, islands and retaining walls from 2 to 20 ft. Fresh cut shad as well as live perch are good for blues and for channel cat stick with worms, liver or punchbait. Hybrids are moving back out slowly but surely but can still be found on windblown shorelines and points early and late. Try topwaters, rat-l-traps and swimbaits as well as live perch and shad in 3 to 18 ft. of water. Sandbass are stacking up on the points and humps also. Focus on the 8 to 16 ft. range with slabs and flutter spoons in white, chartruse or silver. Keep your bait near bottom and hop it up a foot or so at a time for best results. We are still running guided fishing trips from the Cedar Creek Bait and Tackle baitshop at Big Cheif Landing and would love to put you on the fish. Stop by and see us at 111 Big Cheif dr. in Gunbarrel city. We have a wide variety of bait and tackle selections and a helping hand to get you on your next successful fishing adventure.
