Hello folks, Jason Barber here with the weekly kingscreekadventures.com fishing report for Cedar Creek Lake. The lake level is at 3.81' low and the temps are in the high 40's. The water has became more stained with the winds and rain we have had lately, but not too bad.
Crappie can still be found in deeper brush 12' to 24' near the main lake as well as on the bridges. start looking for deeper fish near any cover you can find on the humps and ridges on the south end. Remember to fish extremely slow.
Catfish are good on cutbait like shad and bream as well as drum or carp. If you can't get that try shrimp. You can drift or anchor on the south end near points and humps in 18' to 30' of water and try shallow on the north end in 2' to 10' of water.
Largemouth are still around the rocks and docks. Try jigs fished slow and slow roll spinners and crankbaits as well. Remember the dirtier the water the shallower the bite. You can also find a few fish on the south end out on the humps and brush in 10' to 24' of water stick with the jig, c-rig, drop-shot or deep crank.
Hybrids and sandies are starting to move deeper. Follow the birds as well as your electronics to find the bait and fish suspended in 18' to 30+ feet of water from mid-lake south. Try slabs, spoons and dead sticking soft plastic shad immitations fised on lead heads very slow for best rersults. Thanks to all of you for taking time to read my report and please stop by the baitshop at Big Chief Landing and see us. To book a fishing or duck hunting trip you can reach me at 903-603-2047....
