Cedar Creek Lake Fishing Report for 2/25/2012

Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the www.kingscreekadventures.com fishing report for Cedar creek lake. The lake is at 2.83 ft. low and doing very well! We should have no problem filling up to normal pool with minimal spring rains and it's going to be a great spawn with all the new shoreline vegetation. The water is stained to muddy and in the low 50's and rising. The crappie are making a strong move to the shallows on the north end of the lake around the coves and creeks. Multiple catches reported from the 2 to 6 ft. range on jigs and minnows. On the south end try some of the creeks but search in deeper water as lots of fish are still in the main lake in 12 to 20 ft near brushpiles and bridges. The Catfish are still in shallow water on the north end of the lake and can be caught in 2 to 8 ft. on fresh cut shad or other fresh cut bait as well as worms and crawfish. Mainlake humps and points are still holding fish on the south end in 15 to 24 ft. and shad are still a good choice for bait. The hybrids and white bass are in the creeks on the upper end of the lake and are officially in the spawn mode this will continue for a few weeks but it has deffinately started. Small jigs and grubs are good baits as well as minnows. You can also find fish staged up on points, creeks and other submerged structure near the creek areas in 3 to 10 ft. Like the other species try a little deeper on the south end as they are still a couple weeks behind the north end due to the dirtier and shallower water warming up quicker. Bass are moving into the backs of the coves and creeks as well and can be targeted with spinnerbaits as well as soft plastics and Rat-L-Traps. We are located at Big Cheif Landing on the east end of Gunbarrel city on hwy 334. We have a great selection of live and frozen bait as well as lodging and tackle. There is also fishing from the bank in our baited areas with room for lots of fishermen and women. We run guided fishing trips 7 days a week and we fish for all species and are linked to over 40 years of Cedar creek lake fishing knowledge. We would love the opportunity to share the boat with you and show you what this great lake has to offer. There will also be fresh crawfish boiled Fri - Sun starting at 11am From now til season ends.Give us a call at 903-887-7482 or 903-603-2047 with any questions or for booking info. Thanks as always!
