Cedar Creek Lake Fishing Report for April 15, 2013

Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the weekly http://www.kingscreekadventures.com/ fishing report for Cedar Creek Lake. The lake level is at 3.16 ' low and the water temps are in the mid to high 60's. The clarity is slightly stained to very stained heading north. The Largemouth are in the shallows. You can pretty much catch them on any bait you like right now but Tx. rigged small plastics are best followed by spinners and shallow cranks. The topwater bite is good as well early and late for the most part. Fish water 1 to 6' keying on any cover available. Rocks are holding lots of fish as well. Catfish are on windy shorelines, points and retaining walls. Fish shallow, 1 to 8' deep with cut shad on bottom. You can also catch fish on a float rig early near the walls and rocks, this is a fun bite with most fish being in the 1 to 5 lb class. Shrimp and worms will catch fish too. The hybrids and sandies are shallow early and late. Get right up on the mainlake points and slow roll swimbaits and small crankbaits. Have a topwater ready for any surfacing fish as well. Once the sun gets high in the sky, move out into 8 to 16' and fish spoons and slabs near bottom. Crappie are still in the middle of the spawn. There are fish spawning and fish waiting to spawn. We also have fish in the postspawn which means the dock shootin' is about to get real good. Focus on shallow rocky or shaded areas in the spawning coves and on rip-rap on the main lake. There are fish being caught in as little as a foot of water as well as in 10 to 12' you just have to hunt them up each day as they move in and out. Jigs in many colors as well as minnows are all you need for these fish. Thanks as always and once again feel free to call me with questions or to book a guided trip out on this beautiful 34,000 acres of water we have to enjoy.
