Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the weekly kingscreekadventures.com fishing report for Cedar Creek Lake. The water level is at 3.73 ' low and the water temps are in the mid 80's. The clarity is slightly stained to stained and the fish are biting.
The sandbass and hybrids are on the mainlake humps in 12 to 24' of water and can be caught consistently on slabs and swimbaits. Find fish on the graph and mark them with a bouy. Then anchor or troll around the area presenting your bait to them near the bottom. You can also catch fish trolling with deep diving lures.
Largemouth can be found around the deeper docks, bridges and brushpiles as well as mainlake rocks. Crankbaits, c-rigs and plastics riged a variety of ways will work. Focus on water depths between 3 to 16'. You can still catch a few fish on top early and late and on cloudy days.
Catfish are best on the mainlake humps and ridges. Try staying in water 15 to 30' from mid-lake south and 10 to 20' on the north end. Cut shad or rough fish is best but shrimp or live bait will work too.
The crappie are in 10 to 20' near the bridges and brushpiles. When fishing under the bridges the fish will suspend about halfway down alot of times but some days they will stay near bottom you just have to experiment. Minnows and jigs are good.
