Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the http://www.kingscreekadventures.com/ fishing and lake report for Cedar Creek Lake. The water level is at 3.54' low and the water temps are in the mid 50's to low 60's. The clarity is slightly stained to stained and the fishing is good.
The crappie are doing their thing on the north end. There are shallow fish in all the pockets and creeks on the upper end of the lake. Try minnows and jigs around any shoreline cover as well as around shaded docks and bridge rocks. As for the south end, look for staging fish in 3 to 16' of water near rocks, docks and brush. Be ready here because a few more warm days and the fish will push shallow to spawn, and there may be a few there now.
Largemouth are in the same areas as the crappie. Stay around rocks and docks for some prespawn fishing and hit the back of the spawning coves to find fish already on the bank. Cover water with spinners and shallow crankbaits and slow down around good looking areas with plastics like a wacky worm or light tx. rigged creature bait.
The catfish are going good in shallow water on the north end. Try windy points and anchor in 2 to 8' of water and fish on the bottom with fresh shad or shrimp for some fast action. On the south end try a little deeper and there should be fish there. You should catch some sandies and hybrids using this method also. Early mornig is best...
For thy hybrids and sandbass, stay with mainlake points and fish rat-l-traps and crankbaits as well as small swimbaits and grubs in 2 to 10' and you shaould get bit. They should start hitting slab type baits now as well. A live minnow, shad or small bream is a good bet too.
