Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the weekly kingscreekadventures.com/ fishing report for Cedar Creek Lake. The water level is at 3.50' low and the temps are in the mid to high 70's. The clarity is stained as usual.
The Hybrids and sandies are schooling heavily early in the mornings. Try from the Dam to mid-lake near shallow humps and points. Have baits like topwaters, spoons and swimbaits ready for surfuce activity and slabs on hand when they move back to the bottom. You can find fish out to 16' and deeper on up in the day.
Crappie are still on the rocks on the south end of the lake and also hanging around deeper docks. Most of the spawning is over and fish are moving back out to deeper water. Start looking out in 10 to 20' of water near bridges and brushpiles. Minnows and jigs will work.
Largemouth can also be found on main-lake rock and deeper docks. Fish secondary and main-lake points as well throwing crankbaits and soft plastics in 1 to 10' of water. Topwaters will produce well on certain days as well.
The catfish bite is good. You can find active fish near humps and points as well as on shallow flats. Fish 2 to 6' early and on windy days and deeper out to 16' during the days with less wind and brighter skies. Shad, shrimp and cutbait are good bait choices.
We have been catching great nubers of several species of fish. To book a trip call me @ 903-603-2047 or catch me at Cedar Creek Bait and Tackle - 903-432-BAIT.
