Cedar Creek Lake Fishing Report for May 30, 2012

Hey folks, Jason Barber here with the www.kingscreekadventures.com weekly fishing report for Cedar Creek Lake. The temps are in the 80 degree range give or take and we are at 0.49' low and stained on the north end and slightly stained on the south end of the which is good for this impoundment. The fishing is still good!! Catfish are biting on the flats and humps throughout the lake. Stay in 12 to 25' of water for best results anchor or drft at this depth and stay with fresh cut shad or shrimp for bait. The hybrids and sandies will be in these areas as well try to focus on the dropoff areas in again 12 to 25' of water reading your depth and marking bait and fish with your electronics and start here. Mix it up... slabs, swimbaits, spoons and even live bait like shad or perch. Crappie are really good on minnows and jigs near the bridge pillars and in brushpiles in 12 to 22'. Some fish can still be caught under deeper docks but the dock bite is fading slowly. Try to move around until you start getting bit under the bridges and then try to sit on the fish once you find them. Lots of fish are susspended up 2 to 10' off the bottom so experiment until you get the depth figured out. As for brushpiles you either know of some or should try putting some out it is verry effective. Get some form of a gps, either handheld or phone and mark it!! Add to it each year and it will become a great thing. Largemouth are in the early stages of a good summer pattern. Some fish are setting up deeper on the ledges and humps on the south end and others are on the docks near the mainlake points on the upper end. Crankbaits, Spinnerbait and softplastics both carolina and tx rigged will catch fish. Finnesse baits like the shaky and other jighead type presentations are good under the docks and around any rocks near the mainlake in 2 to 10' and topwaters will produce early and late. Thanks again for reading and come by the baitshop to see what they are biting on and take a look at our live bait selection as well as our guided fishing opportunities and more. We have water toys and snacks n drinks available too. Contact us at 903-887-7482 or to book a fishing trip my number is 903-603-2047
