Cedar Creek Lake fishing report for August 21, 2012

Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the weekly kingscreekadventures.com fishing report for Cedar Creek Lake. The lake is at 2.22 low and falling and the water temps are in the high 80's to low 90's. The clarity is good at slightly stained and should stay that way until we get rain. The crappie are good on minnows and jigs near the bridges and on brushpiles in 15 to 20'. Try fishing 8 to 12' down around the bridges and in or near the top of the brushpiles elsewhere. Hybrids and sandies are still on mainlake humps in 16 to 24' of water and can be caught trolling or with slabs and swimbaits. Livebait is another good choice. The catfish will be good in the same areas as the sandies and hybrids just anchor and try cut shad or shrimp on the bottom in 15 to 24' and you should get bit. As for the largemouth try cranks and plastics around the mainlake docks in 3 to 10' of water and c-rigs and deep cranks as well as jigs on mainlake ridges, brush, humps and points in 8 to 20' of water. Mix it up and you should find some fish. Stop by the baitshops at Big Chief Landing and see what we have to offer. We have dove, deer, duck and hog hunting availible as well as a full time fishing guide service to put you right on the fish! Thanks and good fishing. Contact us at 903-603-2047 0r 903-887-7482
