Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the weekly kingscreekadventures.com/ fishing report for Cedar Creek Lake. The Lake level is at 2.87 ' low and the water temps are in the mid to high 40's. The water is stained to very stained as you head north.
The Crappie are slow but you can catch a few fish on deep brush on minnows and jigs. Stay in water 16 to 30' and fish very slow. There have been a few reports of fish showing up on brushy docks as shallow as 6' so don't be affraid to try.
Catfish can still be caught shallow on the north end in 2 to 10' and deep on the south end in 18 to 35'. Fresh cut shad is the best bait for the job but other things like cut carp or drum will work. Anchor and drift to see what works for you.
For largemouth fish docks in 4 to 15' with jigs, crankbaits and spinners and remember to fish slow. The rocks all over thr lake are a good bet as well. Fish them with the same baits as well as finnesse worms and suspending jerkbaits.
The hybrids and sandies are still deep. Focus on schools of bait on the main lake in 25 to 40' water and you will find them. Stay with small swimbaits and other plastic shad immitations on jigheads for best results. Drift slow or anchor and drop straight down and suspend your baits near the bottom according to the fish. Let the bait sit still for long periods and wait for subtle strikes and set the hook emediately.
Thanks again and feel free to call me to book a fishing trip, the fish are biting! 903-603-2047
