Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the weekly kingscreekadventures.com fishing report for Cedar Creek lake. The lake level is at 2.59' low and the clarity is slightly stained with the water temps in the mid 70's to low 80's.
The largemouth ar getting shallower with some fish coming in 2 to 4' on points and around docks with water ranging 2 to 8'. Crankbaits and soft plastics are good and spinners are beginning to work as well.
The catfish are good on fresh shad and shrimp as well as live bait. For channel cat ry punchbait and liver. You should fish in depths from 5 to 15' and try both anchoring and drifting for best results.
Crappie are on bridges and brushpiles as well as around some of the stumps in 12 to 18'. A few fish have been caught in 6 to 10' brush near deeper boat docks. Minnows are good as well as a variety of jig colors.
Sandies and hybrids are good at night around the dock lights on jigs, swimbaits and rat-l-traps. You can also catch them near the mainlake points and humps on slabs and swimbaits as well as live shad. Try to stay in 12 to 20' on the humps and points and near the brightest lights near the docks at night.
Thanks again and until next week, good fishing and come see us at the baitshop at Big Chief Landing. To book a fishing trip call 903-603-2047
