Hi folks, Jason Barber here with this weeks kingscreekadventures.com/ fishing report for Cedar Creek Lake. The water level is 2.88 ' below normal pool and falling. The water temps are in the 70's and the clarity is stained to slightly stained.
Crappie are on the move and fish are being caught in water as shallow as 6'-9' around brush but mostly in the 10' to 16' range. Bridges are still good but boatdocks deeper than 6' are holiding fish as well. Minnows and jigs are good as always.
The catfish are still in the 10 to 20' depths and also coming in shallower at night. Cut shad, shrimp and live bait are all good for the bluecats and punchbait, liver and nightcrawlers are best for channelcat. Try drifting and anchoring 20 to 30 minutes at a time until you figure them out.
Largemouth are good around rocks and docks. Try spinnerbaits, jigs and crankbaits and experiment with topwater baits early and late. You can also catch some fish shallower on the points and humps with a carolina rigged soft plastic of your choice. Focus on water 5 to 15' for the most part. Throw a medium diving crankbait in these areas as well.
The sandies are moving back up on the humps and points as well. Try slabs in water 8-16' and keep your bait near the bottom hopping it up a foot or so at a time but often. Chrome, white and charteuse are all good colors. The hybrids are best at night around the dock lights on swimbaits and crankbaits, stay with shad patterns or chartruse.
