Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the kingscreekadventures.com weekly fishing report for Cedar creek lake. The lake level is at -2.74 and falling and the temps are in the 80'S. The water is slightly stained but not bad for Cedar creek.
The catfish are good drifting in 8 to 20 ft of water on shad and shrimp. You can also catch them in shallower water at night and early in the morning. Try to focus on windy shorelines and stay in 5 to 10 ft.
Hybrids and sandies are scattered but starting to group back up on mainlake humps and points. Try slabs and swimbaits in 14 to 22 ft. also try trolling deep divers in the same areas.
The largemouth are turning on with the cooler temps. The dock bite is good and getting better. Try crankbaits and soft plastics. Fish docks near the mainlake in 3 to 10 ft. Also try the rip-rap along the bridges and the dam. Some fish can be caught here early on topwater baits.
Crappie are still on brushpiles and bridges. Focus on 12 to 18 ft. depths with minnows and jigs. Please come by the baitshop at Big Cheif Landing and see us, we have hunting and fishing trips availible and a great selection of live and frozen baits. Thanks as always...jb
