Cedar Creek Cleanup, closing party scheduled Sept. 22

The Tarrant Regional Water District is sponsoring the 14th Annual Cedar Creek Cleanup Saturday, Sept. 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The annual event is well supported by lake residents, and about 600 volunteers participated last year in helping clean up the refuse left behind during the summer. In addition to helping clean up the lake, volunteers will be treated to a party afterwards at Tom Finley Park in Gun Barrel City. The park is adjacent to Hwy 334 near the causeway. The party will feature food, prizes and entertainment by Radio Disney 620 AM. Volunteers also will receive a free T-shirt with the event's logo for 2012. Volunteers will be provided with cleanup kits and assigned to points around the lake. The kits will be available for pickup the day before the cleanup at TRWD's lake office at 6613 Ashby Lane in Trinidad. To register visit: http://www.trwd.com/CedarCreekCleanUp.aspx or call 903-432-2814.
