Cedar Creek was in for a surprise when Dickie’s Barbeque in Mabank held an event for the surrounding areas Wednesday to make sure that no one was hungry.
An event titled, Feed The Hungry, was one where anyone, for any reason could walk into the restaurant, order a meal that included a drink, and be able to eat at no matter if they were unable to afford the price on the menu.
Many local area churches and help centers were on site to promote other needs as well.
Overall, the day offered a bit over 100 meals served, totaling over $400 that Owner, Guy New and his staff invested into our community.
This is how community helps each other. Bringing together and facilitating the community in fellowship, food and making sure that our area is taken care of.
Many Staff at Dickies participated in the event, Including but not limited too, Holly Gordon, Michelle Daniel, Colby Kelley, Kristopher Fleming and Chance Blue
CMA Ministry was also on site speaking with folks and passing out care packages. Those in attendance were Gary and Kim Cook, Harley and T.K. Willcox, DuWayne Nalls and James Prince. Not pictured is Les and Sandy Spencer.
The CMA Ministry, Part of the Shalom Riders, meet 3rd Monday of each month at the Dairy Queen in Seven Points at 7p or early to share a meal.
Bible study is also held every 4th Monday of each month, also at DQ and at 6:30.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the making of this day!
