SEVEN POINTS -- The Library at Cedar Creek Lake starts its annual Summer Reading Program for kids June 1.
Sign-up for the program begins Friday, June 1 and runs through Monday, June 4. Kids need to sign up for the program to be eligible for prizes being awarded in three groups, ages four to six, ages seven to 12 and ages 13 to 18.
Hours of reading and numbers of books being read must be logged in order to receive entry tickets in drawings for prizes. In addition to the grand prizes the library will be giving away movie tickets, books, pencils and gift cards to participating kid readers.
In addition to the reading contest, the program will host shows during the summer featuring clowns, magicians, musicians, reptile handlers, ventriloquists and other entertainment.
