A new Cedar Creek Lake business targeting residents who want to keep their boats gassed-up and ready to go without the hassle is selling memberships.
For $250-per-year Longhorn Gas is promising to keep boats and other water toys filled up while the property owner goes about their business. The member customers are billed at the current rate of $4.30 per gallon of gas in addition to the annual membership.
Members call in their gas orders, and the company goes to the customer's dock or other storage area with a gasoline trailer and fills up the tanks. A gas caddie is used to transport gas from the trailer to the boat, personal water crafts and other storage tanks.
"It's that simple, but we prefer you think of us as the magic gas fairy," according to the company's website. "Every time you come back to the lake all of your watercraft are magically full."
The new company is owned by Jody Crane, who identifies himself as a 20-year resident of the lake. The idea came to him because of his own frustration with searching for gas on the lake, he says.
