Summer is for swimming, sports and other fun in the sun, but it's also for reading.
Summer reading programs are underway at the Libary of Cedar Creek Lake in Seven Points and at at Tri-County Library in Mabank.
At the Cedar Creek Lake library story hour will be held for children at Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. There will also be special presentations, including visits by a magician, an Alpaca farm, Smokey the bear, a dairy farm, an astronomer, a ventriloquist, a banjo player, Safari Greg, a snake specialist, and a final wrap up with a big end of summer party featuring waterslides, snow cones and games. There will be movies in July.

Tri-County Library in Historic Downtown Mabank will feature children's readings on Mondays, storytelling and music on Tuesdays and special programs on Thursdays. All programs begin at 10:00 a.m.
At the end of the summer, the library will present a new bicycle durng a drawing art a pizza party. Children who visit summer programs get a ticket for each visit that is placed the the drawing box.
Coupons from Dairy Queen, Sonic, Sweet Southern Bliss, Burger King, the Donut Shop, Cochran's Cafeteria, Jack in the Box, McDonald's, Pizza Hut and CiCi's Pizza will be given away when reading logs are completed.
