Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the www.Kingscreekadventures.com fishing and lake report for Cedar Creek Lake. The water level is at about -0.2 and the water temperature ranges from the high 40' to the low 50's with the clarity ranging from stained to muddy heading north.

The catfish are on mainlake flats in 25 to 40' of water and also on the north end in 2 to 10' of water. You can catch them on fresh cut bait drifting or anchored it just depends on how you like to fish. Drift long stretches on the mainlake or anchor near key areas like creek channel edges or steep drops and give it some time to see if there are any active fish.

Large mouth are making a move towards the shore and can be caught around the docks and rocks with jigs and plastics as well as crank baits and jerk baits. Moving into the coves try spinner baits and tx rigs and remember to fish slow and thoroughly.

Crappie are starting to turn on in the creeks and should start showing up in the marinas and deeper boat docks very soon. Jigs and Minnows are both good baits. Brushpiles are going to hold a few fish as they start staging to move in the shallows as well.

Sandies and hybrids are on mainlake flats also, and canbe caught on various soft plastics that imitate shad. Dead stiking is still very effective for these fish hanging out in 25 to 50' of water. There are some fish already moving into the creeks and it should be a great run this year. Small jigs and swim baits are good choices for fishing in the creeks.
