Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the www.kingscreekadventures.com fishing and lake report for Cedar Creek Lake. The lake level is at normal pool and the water temperature is in the mid 80's. The clarity ranges from slightly stained to stained heading north.
The crappie are slowly fading out into deeper water with only a few fish still hanging out under the deepest docks. Brush piles and bridges are becoming the go to places to find the best numbers of fish. Try 12 to 24' and play with the depth of your bait until you find out where they are biting.
The catfish are scattered throughout the lake and can be caught drifting anywhere from 10 to 30' over main lake flats. Anchoring on humps in 12 to 16' and fishing from there out to 24' on bottom with fresh cut bait is good as well.
Large mouth are scattered as well, you may find fish on shallow rock or bushes, retaining wall points and shorelines as well as docks can all be good. Top water, crank baits, and plastics are all good things to throw. Offshore structure is starting to hold fish too, deep crankin and various plastic techniques are usually best. For off shore stay in 10 to 20' and focus on humps, roadbeds and points searching for any cover available such as brush, rocks stumps ect...
Sandbass and hybrids are schooling early on the south end of the lake in several areas. Just stay around the normal humps and flats and you should find fish. After the sun gets on up go to slabs, swim baits and trolling baits fishing in the same areas just a little deeper like 12 to 20' watching the graph at all times.
