Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the www.kingscreekadventures.com fishing and lake report for Cedar Creek Lake. The lake level is at normal pool and the water temperature is in the mid to high 60's and the water clarity is stained to muddy and the fish are biting.
The crappie are in the shallows and should be targeted around shallow debris and any vegetation in 1 to 4'. Some docks will hold fish as well and don't rule out shoreline rock. Jigs and minnows are both good fished vertical or under a float.
Catfish are good on shallow points and shorelines on fresh cut shad and can be found throughout the lake. You can still catch fish drifting in different depths you just have to search.
Large mouth are in the spawning mode and are in coves throughout the lake and should be located in 1 to 6' around rocks, docks, brush and shallow weeds. Tx rigged plastics and jigs as well as spinner and chatter baits are all good.
Hybrids and sandbass are in the creeks and on mainlake points, shallow cranks ad small jigs are good bait choices. Fish the windy side of the points in 2 to 10' and keep moving until you find them.
