Cedar Creek Lake Fishing Report for November 2, 2015

Well Hello again fishing fans, Jason Barber here with the www.Kingscreekadventures.com fishing and lake report for Cedar Creek Lake. The water level is just over full and the water temperature ranges from the high 60's to the mid 70's. The clarity ranges from stained to muddy heading north and the fish are biting!

The crappie are moving to the docks and brush piles to feed up before winter and we're seeing fish as shallow as 5' and fishing out to about 16' on some days. Jigs and Minnows are both good baits.

Large mouth are definitely holding on rocks and docks and can be caught on various baits. Crank baits and soft plastics as well as jigs and spinners are all good things to throw this time of year. Cover plenty of water and you will find the fish eventually. I also like to throw a buzz bait in the fall so give that a try too.

Hybrids and Sandies are schooling early and late near the dam and the key ranch flats and can be caught on slabs and swim baits as well as topwaters. Try locating the fish in 10 to 24' of water on the humps and points with your electronics and fish them accordingly, just keep your eyes open for birds and surface activities.

The catfish are on fire around the running creeks. You can catch fish on many different types of bait like shad, worms, shrimp ect... stay shallow 2 to 6' for best results, this is a good time to start fishing off your docks too especially at night as fish move shallow following the shad.

Good luck to all and I am available to take you out on a guided fishing trip whenever you get ready! Give me a call @903-603-2047 thanks as always.

Cedar Creek Lake

Fishing Report from TPWD (May 1)

EXCELLENT. Slightly stained; 75 degrees; 0.43 feet above pool. The hybrid striped bass and white bass have made a full recovery from the spawn and are now back in the main lake in droves and are on a feeding frenzy! Look for heavy bird activity throughout the lake on flats and near the Dam on edges of drop offs especially on cloudy and overcast days. The hybrids and white bass have started schooling in water from 4-14 feet at the dam and any wind blown shallow point or seawall. Late evening schooling action is also happening in shallow coves and points throughout the lake. Reports of great catches using silver or white slabs and spinners and retrieving off the bottom at a very slow retrieve to catch these fish in depths of 8-16 feet of water. The crappie have also migrated back into the main lake. Look for them under bridge pylons or under docks where the depths are between 3-10 feet. Guides have been reporting exceptionally nice catches on sunny warmer days. Report by Brent Herbeck, Herbeck’s Lonestar Fishing Guide Service. Catfish are excellent the first couple hours of the day on retaining walls where the shad are spawning using fresh cut or whole shad on a bobber or with a light weight. The bite slows as the day progresses because the catfish are feeding heavily at first light. Later in the day target catfish on the first drop-offs in 5-15 feet of water. Report by Jason Barber, Kings Creek Adventures.
