Crappie Anglers of Texas Tournament Trail 2015 on Lake Palestine
CAT recently held its 5th Crappie Anglers of Texas Qualifier Tournament of 2015 on Lake Palestine July 18, 2015. We had 38 teams, 23 teams signed up for Division 1 and Division 2 had 15 teams. Here are the results:
In Division 1, A.J. and Carolyn Matura (Chandler, TX) won first place with a stringer of seven fish weighing an even 12.00 pounds. This team also won the Pro Angler Tackle Award. Second place was won by Paul O’Bier (Gunter, TX) and George Nelon (Boyd, TX) with their stringer weighing 11.74 pounds. Jay Don and Rhonda Reeve (Gun Barrel City, TX) took home 3rd place with a nice stringer weighing 11.65 pounds. Other awards in Division 1 went to: Kirk Grounds (Sachse, TX) won the Bobby Garland Big Fish Award with a slab weighing 1.99 pounds. Mackey Whyte (Allen, TX) and Keith Moore (Allen, TX) won the Slab Bandit Crazy Eight Award with seven fish weighing 8.09 pounds; Jason Barber (Gun Barrel City,TX) and Jeff Fielder (Combine,TX) won the Constant Pursuit Outfitters Low Ball Award with their stringer weighing 5.30 pounds. Jeff Schwieterman (Parker, TX) and James Rains (Tawakoni, TX) won the Minnow Bucket Lucky Dog Award; and Mia Hemke won the Pro Angler Junior Angler Award.
In Division 2, Bill Mouw (Burleson, TX) and Alec Dyer (Keller, TX) netted a first place win with a 7 fish stringer weighing 11.45 pounds. Clay Gann (Lindale, TX) and Todd Froebe (Lindale, TX) along with Jr Angler Langdon Froebe took home second place with 7 fish weighing of 11.24 pounds. This team also won the Bobby Garland Big Fish Award with a slab tilting the scale at 2.11 pounds and Langdon Froebe won the Pro Angler Junior Angler Award. Todd Box (Alba, TX) and Richie James (Wylie, TX) took home third place with a stringer weighing 9.75 pounds. Other Division 2 winners were:Johnny Merriman (Emory, TX) and Doug Broadway (Burleson, TX) won the Pro Angler Tackle Award and also took home the Slab Bandit Crazy 8 Award with a weight of 7.97 pounds. Big Earl’s Bait and Tackle Lucky Dog Award was won by the team of Charles House (Allen, TX), Donny Holder (Plano, TX) and Jr Angler Dakota Ryder.
