When I think of Father’s Day, a lot of emotions come up and rightly so after loosing my biological father early last year and having a tense relationship with my stepfather who raised me from the age of 19.
Father’s Day is a day of many emotions for many people depending on each of our circumstances surrounding either our own fathers, or your children that made you a father. Maybe even, the Father who made you a mother? As is one of the cases in my own life with my daughters.
Are they good memories? Are they bad? Do you have memories that can carry you long after the passing of your own father or grandfather? Or Do your memories carry a different weight that mean the day that rolls around to celebrate, brings more grief?
No matter what life has handed you, we have an opportunity here at Cedar Creek Lake each day to make the life we want and with whom.

All around the lake, businesses are stepping up and honoring fathers with free breakfast, lunch and dinner specials.
But what they are really offering is a memory if you can see past the advertising call.
Anyone can take up a free meal offer but what purpose does it serve?
Well I suppose that would depend on the person or family and the time invested into the outing.
The lake traffic this am is busy, showing signs that this holiday is just like any other here, and to top it off, were into summer, so that makes this lake one of THE places to spend this holiday no matter what life circumstances have dealt.
When you are planning your day, or your day for the important man in your life, check out your local favorite eatery in each nook and cranny of the lake and I bet, they have a good Father’s Day deal going on.
Or, just visit the lake with a picnic in hand with family and friends! The lake is always the addition to add to any outing out here!
Another thing to think about on this day, are shut ins, nursing homes, hospitals and a few other places in between.
Have you ever seen an elderly neighbor working in their yard alone?
How about those groups of men that go to each Dairy Queen around each town, for breakfast in the am, or the local cafes for the same reason? Those elderly men you see like that, the ones who have done so much for so many people, and our community, deserve for us to turn around and see them.
This Father’s Day is a great day to start a whole slew of new opportunities and make a new memory that can and will last for a lifetime.
