The Tool Police Department will be looking for several new police officers, including the top job.
Chief of Police Rickey Feist resigned Feb. 16 without citing the reason, effective immediately. City officials said the abrupt resignation surprised them.
City Secretary Makenzie Lyons said city officials later learned that Feist had taken a job with Henderson County.
Feist’s resignation followed the suspension of police investigator Jenny Engle and police officer Garrett Engle Feb. 3 in an emergency meeting. No reason was given for the suspensions.
Garrett Engle resigned afterwards, and Jenny Engle was fired by the City Council.
Feist went to work for Tool in 2013. The council has not yet named an interim replacement for the chief.
Tool is currently advertising for a police dispatcher.
