505's Annual Parade of Homes Event Began with a Bang and Ended High in the Helicopter

Written by: Suzanne Warner

505 Ranch Club opened the day with Beretta Pro, Jeanie Almond, the first female national champion in trap, demonstrating and teaching guests tips and tricks for all ages and experience levels at the sporting clay field. What made this so exciting was the exhibition of Firebird Targets, an instant hit recognition tool that causes the clay to detonate immediately upon impact! Explosive excitement for sure. Thank you, Firebird, for our exclusive pre-market release in the US. Check them out online at www.firebirdtargets.com.

Meanwhile guests hit the ATV trail on a dozen of the newest and coolest selection of vehicles, including the 2018 Polaris RZR1000, from Freedom Powersports Dallas.

The thrills were not complete without an overhead Firebird helicopter tour overlooking the spectacular 505 acres of impressive designer lake homes, fishing ponds, a world class polo facility and the equestrian center.

After the thrills, guests continued on to the Parade of Homes, starting at the spectacular 505 Ranch Spec Home on Lot 48. Designed by renowned architect Jerry Coleman, this 4,863-square foot, 4-bedroom, 4.5 baths, has a great open kitchen, den, bunk room and game room. The home is perched on an incredible heavily treed 1.6-acre lot with vast lake views. With Mr. Coleman’s extensive expertise in similar projects, he has truly refined a clean-lined rustic ranch and lake home that contains the finest of quality finishes and millwork. Expansive outdoor entertaining spaces include wide patios and an incredible screened porch overlooking Cedar Creek Lake. Sound like your dream home?...It’s on the market! To be completed late Dec 2017 $1.995k.

The day culminated with a party at the Clubhouse featuring fine wines hand selected by the sommelier from Pogo’s Wine and Spirits, beef tenderloin, mini lobster tacos, arancini (fried risotto), charcuterie and an array of cheeses, and a variety of scrumptious cannoli for dessert-- all beautifully presented by Proper Catering.

What an amazing way to spend a Sunday only 45 minutes from Dallas!

Fishing Report from TPWD (Jul. 9)

GOOD. Water slightly stained; 85 degrees; 0.26 feet above pool. Big numbers of white bass and several trophy-class hybrid stripers have hit the deck. We are consistently finding the best action in 15–22 feet of water. Good go-to setups include a variety of slabs, sometimes paired with 2–3 jigs above, and the always-reliable yellow bladed jig using the proven saw tooth retrieve technique. Trolling spoons at 3 mph in 13–17 feet of water absolutely crushed the white bass. Water temperatures are currently holding around 83 degrees and will continue to rise as summer heats up over the next couple of weeks. Report by Brent Herbeck, Herbeck’s Lonestar Fishing Guide Service. Fishing patterns remain consistent. Catfish are good anchoring on humps in 12-24 feet using small shad or cut shad on the bottom, or drifting larger cut carp, drum or big gizzard shad on flats in 10-25 feet all around the lake. Report by Jason Barber, Kings Creek Adventures.
