Cedar Creek Lake Fishing Report for February 18, 2012

Hi folks, Jason Barber here with the weekly kingscreekadventures.com fishing report for Cedar Creek Lake. The water level is at 2.9' low and the water temps are in the mid 50's. The water is stained to muddy going south to north. The crappie are moving shallow on the north end of the lake and can be found in creeks and near deeper brushy docks and rocks. Stay in water 2 to 6 ft. here and move deeper the further south you go. Try various colors of jigs and also live minnows. The catfish are shallow on the north end of the lake and can be caught on windy points and near islands and stump edges. Cut shad, drum and carp are good baits. You can also find fish in 18 to 35' on the south end drifting the same baits on bottom. Largemouth are also moving shallow on the upper end of the lake start in the spawning coves and work them all the way back with spinners, soft plastics and jigs. On the south end throw jigs, shallow to medium diving crankbaits, rat-l-traps and finnesse worms on wacky and shaky head rigs as well as drop shot rigs. Fish 3 to 10' of water and remember to fish slow. Some hybrids are showing up in the shallow wind-blown areas on the north end and can be caught os fresh shad but most fish are still in fairly deep water 20-35' from mid-lake south and can be caught dead sticking soft plastics on jigheads and swimbaits work good also. We have changed locations with the baitshop. We are no longer located at Big Cheif Landing we're now located in Seven Points about a half mile south of the light across from Poe Motors in the yellow building @ 640 Seven Points Blvd. on hwy 274. We still have live and frozen bait as well as fishing tackle and offer a full time fishing guide service as well as hog and other hunting in the surrounding areas. Give us a call for booking info @ 903-603-2047 Thanks as always
