Henderson and Kaufman Counties property values reached $5.7 billion and $7 billion respectively this year, according to the counties’ appraisal districts.
The appraisal districts released the information to county officials for budgeting purposes. The counties’ new budget years begin Oct. 1.
Henderson County values increased by less than 1 percent while Kaufman County saw a 10 percent increase.
All of the school districts in Kaufman County showed property value increases as well with Kemp ISD in the Cedar Creek Lake area growing by 3 percent.
In Henderson County Cedar Creek Lake area school districts saw an almost 1 percent decrease for Eustace ISD, less than a 1 percent increase in Mabank ISD, almost a 5 percent increase in Malakoff ISD, a 3 percent increase in Trinidad ISD and a 12 percent decrease in Cross Roads ISD.
Trinity Valley Community College taxable values increased by less than 1 percent in Henderson County and by 4 percent in Kaufman County for gains of $20 million and $151 million respectively.
